“Paintings” refer to works that mimic canvas paintings but are on silk instead of canvas. They are wrap-stretched and ready to be hung on the wall as-is. “Hangings” are silk paintings hung on hand-made wooden dowels and intended to float in mid-air, in corners or against a wall.
